Comfort Zone

IMG_3819.jpg

What is comfort? We know it as being in a constant state of peace; there is no pain, no distress, just a pure aura of bliss and contentment. As humans we find comfort in people, places, or things we love and we use that to guide us through life.

My comfort - Fashion; and with that comes thrifting. I have always been a person to thrift. Looking back on high school ventures I remember one moment where I went to the thrift store with my cousins searching for an outfit. As soon as we entered the store, I was overwhelmed with the pieces of fabric that were carefully stitched together to make one of a kind pieces. The workers were loading the racks with a new batch of gems and the customers, just as intrigued, were digging through the items piece by piece.  It was then I knew and could officially say that I fell completely in love with art of thrifting (and if you know me know me, my love for silked shirts was birthed in the process). Here is where my thrifting collection first began to thrive. From a pair of 70s flare pants, to a top from the 90s, my outfit sparked the room and immediately were wondering and asking where my outfit came from. Not only was the outfit a look in it's entirety, but the price ?? Woah! I was able to buy an entire outfit for the price of ONE item you'd normally get from a regular retail store. That following weekend I returned and never looked backed. It's the oversized silk shirts, the mom style printed sets, vintage jackets and flare pants for me! Now, here I am years later indulged in signature looks that cater to the comfort of self.
